Stay Balanced Through Contact

Good shots begin with good balance. Even the best paddle can't make up for poor body position.

When you're balanced, your swing stays smooth and repeatable. When you're falling backward, reaching too far, or off balance, your paddle becomes much harder to control.

Think about shooting a basketball. Players don't intentionally lean sideways while taking a free throw because balance is essential for consistency. The same principle applies every time you strike a ball.

One of the easiest ways to improve is to slow yourself down between shots. Rather than rushing to the ball, focus on arriving under control with your feet set before making contact.

During practice, pay attention to your finish. If you're stumbling after every swing, you're probably moving too fast or swinging too hard.

Balance isn't about standing still—it's about staying athletic and in control throughout the shot.

Quick tip:
Get your feet underneath you before you swing. Better balance almost always leads to better contact.
